Social innovation is the process of developing and testing solutions to challenging (and often systemic) social and environmental issues. It’s not connected to any specific group or organization, but it something anyone can move forward. That said, some solutions require the active collaboration of individuals across government, business, and the nonprofits. This is where MINDS comes in.
Collective impact is all about bringing people together to achieve social change. A network of community members, organizations, and institutions come together to learn and integrate these learnings into real change at a systems’ level. Collective impact is a framework that can be used by different groups in different ways to achieve positive gains for all involved.
YOUTH PARTICIPATORY ACTION RESEARCH
Youth Participatory Action Research (YPAR) is an innovative approach to positive youth and community development. This framework is based in social justice principles and puts the power into the hands of young people who have been trained in systematic research.
OUR CORE VALUES
Engaging in continuous review through open dialogue, critical thinking and reflection to ensure that we adapt and grow from our failures and successes.
Combining different bodies of knowledge, lived experiences, and research methodologies to work in innovative ways that challenge systemic bias and societal assumptions.
Evaluating the impact of our work in mental health and sharing what we learn to affect systems change.
Using a participatory approach to support diverse youth to lead, engage and collaborate with individuals, organizations and the broader community.
Being compassionate and respectful of every individual’s unique journey and the pace they choose. Cultivating a safer space for youth to engage in the ways that are meaningful to them.
Tackling the complex challenges of mental health and well-being in the places we live, learn, work, play and grow. Changing the way we seek support and receive care.
